May the luck of the Irish... make you cry of laughter and call you a fetus!

Well... I don't know if he's Irish but we laughed our butts off on St. Patricks Day!

Actually... it was my good friend Sue Sue's Birthday gathering AND it just so happened to be St. Patricks Day also! Killing two birds with one stone is ideal.

Me and her hubs were brainstorming Birthday ideas for her and I thought a comedy club would be fun... so I checked to see who was headlining at the Brea Improv. It just so happened that Craig Shoemaker was scheduled to perform. I was SUPER excited!!! We were all super freaking excited!

Craig Shoemaker did not let us down. He was absolutely hysterical. I was on the verge of tears more than once! I can't tell you how ecstatic I was that he did The Love Master set AND the Machine Gun Set. But... right as he started the Love Master bit, I had to freaking pee! He even called me and my friend out for getting up to go. That's what I was trying to avoid... nothing like having to pee sooo bad while trying to avoid confrontation from the comedian. That's what I get for sucking down three captain and cokes in an hour!

We were able to take pictures with him and meet him and greet him... and the BEST part of the whole thing is when he called me a Fetus! LOVED it! Craig Shoemaker called me a fetus. Annnnddd.... he asked me if my glasses were shatterproof! If you've seen the Love Master, you understand why.

Of course I'm the only one actually wearing bright green for St. Patrick's Day

I think that's the most fun I have ever had on St. Patricks day. It really beats standing in line to get into a crowded bar for $30 a head! Laughter really is the absolute BEST medicine! I got like 50% healthier Saturday night. If only laughter helped us lose weight.... I can dream.

Since I'm dreaming... I wish I could get a massage everyday. Massage aides in weight loss... amongst other things. Did you know that? Oh you didnt? I will expand on that subject in another post.
Until then... have a lovely day readers!

Mustache Mania!

I have been a bad bad blogger ... sometimes I forget that I can blog about whatever I want. I forget to just post everyday happenings and weekend events. So I'll be posting a few this week. Yay!

First up and LONG over due. (a whole month!)

My Besties Birthday Bash!

She wanted a mustach themed shin dig. We went mustache crazy and we helped her (a little) create a fun night. I LOVE themed parties... they give new meaning to house parties.

We went crazy with the decorations even though the bulk of the event was outside.

Isn't this guy just so handsome?
oh my goodness I just want to hug the heck out of him!
(amongst other things *wink*)

Here are a few of my favorite "photo booth" photo's.

Well it was a fun evening... errrr... for the most part.
With every house party comes just a little drama.
We won't go into that though!

Wedding Wednesday: The Venue

We are finally getting started on some wedding venue details.

Just in case I haven't mention it... which I probably haven't... We're getting married and having our reception at this beautiful home. The Family who owns it are good friends with my Mother. They are more than just good friends... they are like Family to us. The wife is more like a Sister to my Mommy. They are wonderful wonderful people.

Anyhow... she and her husband bought a beautiful home in 2010 in Murrieta, CA. The home is surrounded by beautiful green trees and lovely nature.

She, family friend, offered her home to us in a heart beat as soon as she heard we were engaged.

I've ALWAYS wanted an outdoor wedding and reception. No offense to anyone who has had or is having a country club or hall reception/wedding... but it's just NOT my thing. To say the least.
In reality... I don't think we could have afforded any sort of outdoor venue with our budget. We seriously SCORED!

To get to my original point... we had a plan-of-action meeting this weekend to go over what needs to be done to make both us and the homeowners happy. They planned on planting some plants and building a few things. We needed to go over both our expectations and decide if everything can be finished in time.

Luckily for them... and us... Carlos and I are pretty low maintenance. We love the rusticity of the home and it really makes things a lot easier. So all we really have to do is clear some brush, pull some weeds, and plant a few lovely plants in small areas. The rest should be a piece of cake thereafter!

Isn't this hallway GORGEOUS! I'm hoping to get some cool wedding day photo's in it.

We also went over parking. There are no actual curbs around these country-like homes... so I was a little worried how we were going to fit possibly over 60 vehicles. Turns out their neighbors have parties all the time and everyone just parked wherever they could find parking in the dirt. I'm pretty comfortable with the idea now. I have informed my guests on our wedding website to wear comfortable shoes on our special day.

These photo's were taken before they moved in so everything is a little empty looking.
Isn't it GORGEOUS though!?!

Addicted to Hunger Games

I'm pretty late in the games - Pun intended! - but I finally got around to reading The Hunger Games. My coworker was so nice to let me borrow the first book. I am almost done with it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I can't wait to get my hands on the second and third and fourth if there is one.

If you haven't read it already, pick up a copy or download a copy. For those of you who might hear that its very twilightesque... SO NOT! I LOVE the twilight series. Doesn't even compare. This one just flows from one good scene to the next. It constantly has me wanting more. I dream about this book and think about it a lot.

When is comes out to the public March 23, I will be attending my very first Midnight showing... EVER! I am super super super excited to go! I took the Friday off so I don't have to go to work in the morning. Party party party!

Again, if you haven't read it. Do it! Do it now! Before the movie comes out.

I'm not artist or photoshop expert but ... here is my cover rendition! hahaha

One more thing... Read the Book!

Excuse the mess...

Excuse the mess... I was trying to change my blog template and it came out crappy! I didn't save the old one so now I'm stuck with a design... its not too messy but not... well... ME!

So excuse the mess. I'll fix this baby up in no-time!

I need to take some freaking classes on this junk! seriously.
